Dugongs is an organisation that focuses on conservation, education and research of dugongs in East Africa, Madagascar and the Mascarene Islands in the Western Indian Ocean. The organisation is currently focusing the work in the Bazaruto Archipelago which now supports possibly the only viable dugong population in the Western Indian Ocean. Dugong education initiatives aim to foster stewardship of the marine environment through interactive education programmes in local schools.
