Kindred Rehabilitation Services and South Florida Health Announce Plans for Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital | Business

BRENTWOOD, Tennessee and FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–January 12, 2022–

Kindred Rehabilitation Services and South Florida Health today announced a joint venture to build and operate a 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital located on land adjacent to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The new hospital will have all private rooms and will focus on the acute rehabilitation of patients with stroke, head trauma, spinal cord injury, complex neurological disorders, orthopedic disorders, multiple trauma, amputation and other injuries or disorders. The rehab center will also include multidisciplinary therapy gymnasiums equipped with the latest therapy technologies, including augmented reality balance training, bionic therapy and a full body exoskeleton. Additionally, it will include a therapy courtyard with outdoor amenities to support patient care and help patients return to daily activities.
