New Chief Nurse at HCA Florida Palms West Hospital


July 15, 2022 – Cheryl Wild will be appointed Chief Nursing Officer of HCA Florida Palms West Hospital, effective July 18, 2022.

Cheryl J. Wild RN, MSN, CENP

Cheryl Wild is a Certified Practical Nurse Executive (CENP), with over 20 years of nursing leadership experience. She describes herself as a fiercely loyal nurse and a champion of quality patient care. Cheryl began her nursing career as a Certified Practical Nurse (CNA), where she “fell in love” with patient care. She believes this start helps her stay “grounded” in her purpose and mission.

Cheryl has held a variety of clinical care roles over her career: medical surgery, open-heart critical care, and clinical trials, to name a few. As a nurse manager, she led teams in clinical research, oncology, cardiology, critical care, cardiac catheterization laboratories and case management. Cheryl has several research publications. She is also the author of a book on congenital heart defects in children. Cheryl joined us most recently from Broward Health, where she served for the past few years as Chief Nursing Officer. She is “very excited” to join the team at HCA Palms West Hospital and describes it as an “incredible opportunity” to serve the community she has lived in for 12 years.

Cheryl earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Trenton State College in New Jersey and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Health Administration from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, a voting member of the Nursing Advisory Council of FAU’s Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing, and she also holds an adjunct professorship in FAU’s College of Nursing. Currently, Cheryl is currently pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Drexel University.
