RIYAD – The General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA) held the fourth meeting of the steering committee to activate the national strategy for the aeronautics sector.
The meeting took place in the presence of the President of GACA, Abdulaziz Bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, and with the participation of the Red Sea Development Company, the Amaala Company, general managers and representatives of companies operating in the sector of civil aviation in the Kingdom.
The President of the GACA said that Cabinet approval of the civil aviation sector strategy contributes to the achievement of the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. This in order to advance and develop the sector to obtain the best results and achievements at local, regional and international level.
In addition, to be an important contributor to economic development, and reflects the role of the GACA as legislator of the sector in the definition of its vision, its priorities, its objectives and its orientations in order to allow the sector to achieve its aspirations.
He noted the importance of intensifying efforts and doing more to improve the overall performance of the sector and to strengthen the role of civil aviation to raise the level of the sector and increase its competitive value to achieve the investment aspirations of wise leaders. and develop this sector for the benefit of citizens and travelers in general.
He congratulated all the employees of the civil aviation sector system for their efforts, their teamwork in light of the serious challenges facing the sector.
Subsequently, the meeting discussed the most recent developments of the Civil Aviation Sector Strategy Activation Project, and what has been achieved regarding the recommendations of the Third Meeting of the Steering Committee to activate the strategy. .
In addition, the meeting covered the extent of the recovery of the sector after the pandemic (COVID-19). This in addition to presenting the latest achievements and pioneering projects of the aeronautics sector for the year 2021, as well as the strategic aviation initiatives plan for the year 2022. – SG
